Princess Fairy Tale Bedroom 1:12 One Inch Scale Dollhouse Miniature Roombox.  Dollhouse Miniature Custom Designed, Custom built, Hand-painted by Miniature Lane & Scale Model Miniatures.
A bedroom for a Princess. Everything you see in the photos is included - the bed, the dresser, the vanity chair, the tiny accessories - slippers, picture frame, books...  all of it.

We started with a vintage room box.  The hardwood floors are custom made by Scale Model Miniatures.  Stained a rich chocolate brown, so detailed you can even see tiny "nail holes".  I designed the trellis arch backdrop - and Scale Model Miniatures built it to fit inside the room-box.  I then picked out the fabrics for the bedding - a pink rose cottage chic fabric with a complimenting white and green mini trellis pattern. Then I custom matched the paint to the same pink in the fabrics so that I could paint the built-in shelves and mural background - a lovely pink.  Then came the castle mural.  I spent hours painting the tiny castle with all the details.
Scale Model Miniatures custom built the dresser and vanity - each has pull out drawers and delicate trim work.  I custom painted each piece - pink with white trim, tiny leaves and a hand-painted clay rose on each drawer of the dresser.  The vanity drawers were smaller so they got hand-painted rosebuds and leaves.  The final touch was the custom made drawer pulls with the tiny Swarovski crystals.
The room box has been finished off with siding and the custom made window casing.  It has been designed to show off open - or you can put the roof and the clear acrylic glass front on it for a more protected (dust-free) view.   The clear acrylic is still brand new with protective papers on either side (the one in the photo is the one I use for photo shoots).
The headboard for the bed was custom made, then hand-painted and embellished with tiny hand-painted 3-d clay roses. A Miniature Lane exclusive bed.  The beautiful feminine fabrics for the bedding just add to the charm of this Princess room.  Lots of tiny pillows compliment the comforter.  I picked out a dresser to go with the room - and hand-painted it to match the other pieces.  We added the trim and custom made drawer pulls so that it would match the bookcase and vanity desk.
The window frame was custom made by Scale Model Miniatures and set into the roombox wall.  I then made curtains to fit the window.  We even custom printed the wallpaper for the walls so that the pink color would match the bed and curtain.  We had a mirror custom cut to fit above the vanity and then painted the trellis work white.
At this point all the main features of the room were finished and I began to look around for finishing touches.   Books (faux books hand painted in pastel colors), a Picture Frame (with a photo of a little girl and her dog), perfume tray, jewelry box, hand mirror - tiny little items to add to the charm of the room.  I added little pink slippers on the floor by the bed.  And then I found a dollhouse to sit on the dresser - it was all the wrong colors - so of course, I repainted it.  I tried out six different chairs for the vanity before finding one to fit perfectly - then custom created the padded cushions and added lace so it's a chair fit for a Princess.  Then I cut out some tiny leaves and created the little flower clusters you see on the trellis work.
This room box was a joint collaboration between Miniature Lane and Scale Model Miniatures (myself and my dad) - a father-daughter project.  We dream up the ideas together - and work together to bring the idea to life.   I love how this room box turned out
Room box is approx. 14 inches wide, 10 inches deep (bedroom floor is 7.5 inches deep - with the built-in trellis wall unit),  and 10 inches high.
