Description
Offered is a figural decanter of a coal miner produced by Willett Distillery of Bardstown, Kentucky during the 1970s. The miner is called "Surface Miner" and he has a sack of coal at his feet with a pick and small piece of coal in his hands. His head comes off and the cork seal is intact. The paper tag on the bag is intact and shows the decanter once held Old Bardstown, a bourbon whiskey made by Willett. The decanter is about 13 and 1/2 inches tall, 5 inches wide and 3 and 1/4 inches front-to-back. Willett did a series of coal miner decanters in the 1970s so there are several styles of these available. Willett Distillery was established in Kentucky in 1937 although members of the Willett family were involved in the distillery process since 1684.Please visit my eBay store, The Antiques Nook, to see lots more items for sale. I'll be happy to combine multiple purchases into one package to try to save you on shipping costs. However, most of the shipping services added an extra fee for any package bigger than 12x12x12 inches, so it's often more cost effective to keep the items in separate boxes to avoid the oversized box fee. I'll try to check it both ways and give you the best price. If an oversized box is needed for any package, FedEx is often the most cost-effective way to send it and I'll use them instead if that's the case. Please use the eBay shipping calculator to determine the cost of shipping. If you would like a package shipped by a method not shown OR can't use a specific service, let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate you.
Please examine the pictures carefully as they are part of the item description. All prices are in U.S. dollars. I use environmentally friendly Eco-nuts in packing.
